Investing in Our Future
Our Friend Jim
A Legacy of Service & Leadership
Jim Beard, a proud Navasota High School and Texas A&M graduate, was a devoted businessman and community leader in Grimes County. From building one of the county’s top State Farm Insurance agencies to serving in numerous civic roles, including the Chamber, Economic Development Committee, Habitat for Humanity, and more, Jim embodied the values of hard work and giving back. He passionately believed in the value of youth and the essential role of trade careers in strengthening our economy.
Empowering Leaders
The Jim Beard Memorial Scholarship reflects Jim’s belief that all students deserve the opportunity to succeed—whether pursuing a college degree or a career in the trades. This annual scholarship affirms the Chamber’s commitment to supporting Grimes County’s youth and building a strong foundation for the community's future.
