The Navasota City Wide Mission, in partnership with the City of Navasota, invites the community to come together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during a citywide celebration on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

About the event
This year’s theme, Mission Possible: A Community Serving Others for the Good of All People, reflects the spirit of service, unity, and hope that defined Dr. King’s work and continues to inspire us today.
The celebration begins with a parade at 11:00AM, lineup starting at 10:00AM on Brosig Avenue. No registration is required to participate! The parade can be viewed along Washington Ave. and LaSalle St, welcoming residents and visitors to gather and celebrate together. After the parade, a memorial program will be held at Friendship Baptist Church at 1111 S. LaSalle Street in Navasota. The program will feature a keynote from the Honorable Frank D. Jackson, plus other special guests and performers. This event is free and open to the public. Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in this meaningful day of celebration.
