The 2017 Navasota State of the City Luncheon is scheduled for January 10, 2017, hosted by the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce and the Navasota Examiner.   The location is the Chandelier Room in Navasota. Check-in at beginning at 9:30am.  Program from 10am to 2pm.

This year's program includes:

  • County Wide Economic Development Program Update by Johnny McNally, Executive Director, Navasota Grimes Co. Chamber of Commerce
  • Area Economic Report and Outlook, John Toliver, Entergy, and Dr. Shannon Lane, SHSU
  • State of the County, update given by Grimes County Judge Ben Leman
  • State of the Schools, update given by incoming NISD Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick
  • State of the City, update given by Bert Miller, Mayor, City of Navasota
    Admission is $10 for Chamber members, $15 for non-members.  Seating is available free of charge starting at 1pm to attend only the Mayor's speech.  The Mayor’s State of the City address is an annual event where business, community, faith and non-profit leaders come together to hear the “state of the city” from the Mayor and the Superintendent of Schools, each presenting a brief overview of local developments for the previous and upcoming year.
