Description:	Celebrate Women’s History Month and Texas History Month at Barrington Living History Farm on March 27^th and 28^th from 10:00 until 4:30 with the program, *True Texas Women*. As men tamed the Texas frontier, the women and girls of the family often endured difficult and extreme hardships, but their determination earned them the title of “gentle tamers and sunbonneted helpmates.” Using authentic letters and diary entries, the ladies of Barrington will relay the sagas of these women’s lives, and one of the more flamboyant and rowdy women of the day, Pamelia Mann, will make an appearance to talk about her life and times. Visit Barrington Farm on this special weekend and learn the art of making items necessary for day-to-day living. Try your hand at spinning, crocheting, quilting, tatting, and crafting items that pioneer women would have been proud to display in their homes. See a variety of fashions, jewelry, and cosmetics that were just as essential to early Texas women as they are to women today. Learn about the significant aspects of their lives including courting, marriage, giving birth, motherhood, and mourning customs. Barrington Farm is located at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site in Washington, Texas, off State Highway 105 between Brenham and Navasota, on FM 1155. Barrington is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for students, and $2.00 for State Park Pass holders. Children 6 and under are free.
