Howdy and Welcome to our part of Southeast Texas!

We welcome you to the heart of the rolling hills of southeast Texas!

We are proud of Grimes County and its unique history, as well as the great strides in progress the county has taken since its founding in 1846. The Chamber, chartered in 1916, has played a vital part in the development of Navasota and Grimes County.

Now, 150 years later, we believe it would be hard to match our county in education, health care, quality of life and activities for both young and old. We are conveniently located to major airports yet are nestled away in the southeast rolling hills, away from urban congestion.

We started as an agricultural county and we have kept that heritage.   We are known as the place "Where Texas is Still Texas" because of our historical resources.

Our quality of life encompasses excellent education and health care facilities, superb police and fire protection and emergency services.   We have a beautiful southeast environment that abounds in recreational and relaxation opportunities.

Over the last 10 years, tourism has taken giant steps forward and is now a big part of our economy, yet we work hard to maintain a balance of a thriving tourism industry vital to our economy and a rural cultural heritage that adds to our quality of life.

Our rich soil provides us with an active agriculture industry and we work to balance our economy with a thriving manufacturing segment.  We continue to work in attracting high technology industries.

Our office offers a number of services for existing businesses and potential businesses as well as relocation assistance. The Chamber is active in promoting the many attractions in the area and the Grimes County Economic Development Foundation is ready to help you with your business needs.
