Chamber Membership

The Chamber of Commerce is a unique organization. By definition it is a voluntary association of businesses, industry, professional and other interested persons. A small county chamber such as ours, is expected to be as diverse as the people it represents. The old saying "no man is an island" reflects the foundation of the Chamber.   No one member, acting alone, can accomplish what the Chamber can do on their behalf.  The Chamber puts lobbyists, sales representatives, public relations, goodwill ambassadors, and informational consultants on your payroll.

YOUR CHAMBER IS PART OF YOUR SALES FORCE:

  • Acts as a referral agency to inquiries for goods and services.
  • Responds to requests for visitor and new resident information on a daily basis.
  • Produces and distributes a membership directory for relocation and new resident packets.
  • Places business flyers and information in monthly newsletter at no charge to members.

YOUR CHAMBER IS AN ADVERTISING AGENCY:

  • Actively pursues positive exposure for the area in both regional and state media markets with results.
  • Promotes county events and festivals with listings in state travel calendars, printing and production of brochures, and banners and signage.
  • Conducts ribbon cuttings and grand openings for new and expanding businesses with local press coverage.

YOUR CHAMBER IS AN EDUCATIONAL, INFORMATIONAL, AND LEGISLATIVE TOOL:

  • Keeps abreast of current legislation impacting local issues.
  • Interfaces with state and national government representatives and local business and industries.
  • Provides accurate statistical information to prospective business and industry.
  • Maintains a complete file of demographical, historical and general information regarding the area for local or outside use.
  • Provides referrals for clubs, organizations, agencies and governmental bodies.

YOUR CHAMBER IS AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCY:

  • Provides information to state agencies, economic development departments and prospects regarding existing building or sites available for sale or lease.
  • Conducts an ongoing retention program to expand and assist resident industry and business.
  • Works directly with County, City and Industrial Foundation to identify and obtain grants and incentives for expanding and new industry and business.
